False alarm, sorry I got the email, which didn't specify it was exclusive to specific stores, and thought to give people heads up.

Can someone else speak to these issues? Is it just me?

I find the speakers to be loud. I keep it at around 40-50%. If you're watching a show and you're sitting 6-10 feet away, it will still be loud enough.

The speakers are considerably louder than the 5505 model I briefly owned, surprisingly.

There is setting dell power manager to adjust that to prolong battery life. It can also be adjust in bios

5500u is now 619$ for doorbuster deal. But 10% unidays doesn't work, gives you an error This is a valid coupon code, but there are no matching items currently in your cart. I wonder if signup 10% code would work

Nope, won't work for the newsletter signup either. Apparently, they learned their lesson.

Update!

In 2010, I upgraded my w520 to 32gb ram.
In 2014, I upgraded my ROG G751 to 32gb ram.
In 2019, I upgraded my MSI GP75 to 64gb ram
In 2021, I upgraded my Inspiron 5515 to 64gb ram.

So for those looking to upgrade the ram, it works!!!

Got it from Newegg, cheaper than my previous 64gb purchase.

I just received my laptop this morning.

Comparing it side-by-side with the 5505 I bought last year, this laptop has some really nice upgrades/tweaks:
  • Full size SD card reader instead of microSD!
  • The dark blue colour scheme is much, much better. Particularly the keyboard colour when combined with the white backlight.
  • The keyboard itself feels different. The keys are more stable and feel less mushy than the 5505. EDIT: also the texture is different; the 5505 has a rougher textured paint, whereas these are smoother - more akin to a MacBook if you're familiar.
  • They got rid of the rubber "cap" at the back of the top cover (i.e. where the laptop rests when it's open) and it's just a continuous piece of aluminum now. This looks much better and I suspect will be more durable than the grey rubber.
  • Came with the mounting hardware for the 2nd SSD.
  • Touch screen
  • EDIT: also, webcam shutter built in - nice.

I have the same problem. Also, if I place the laptop on any surface that's not perfectly flat the touchpad stops clicking and became unreliable, very annoying!

Not sure if the 10% off code works to bring the price down to $810.
Yup 10% off code works on this one (probably because it's not a door buster) .. $915 all in.

Anyone know if I can set a password on my Crucial P5 NVME drive on this laptop? The bios seems have no such options. This could be a deal breaker for me.
