not bad but sometimes it goes to 10% cb...also the cheapest 17in lappy is 1300$ smh!

Okay RFD: Talk me out of buying a Dell.

I'm looking at this desktop: https://deals.dell.com/en-ca/productdetail/9ku5
Basically, i7, 3060ti, 512GB nvme, 16GB RAM (would prefer 32+, but that's cheaper to add separately)

With 10% unidays/email coupon, 8% from Rakuten and 3% from Dell, it's $1360.

I'm struggling to spec out a build anywhere near that price, even without the GPU shortages. Playing around on pcpartpicker, going with cheap components, I'm at about $1200 without a graphics card.

I'm not interested in swapping out components, other than adding RAM and a couple of HDDs. It's a workstation, not a gaming rig, so it's more about future-proofing than FPS. The GPU is for graphics rendering, so it won't be worked very hard (or rather, not for long stretches). Basically, I'm struggling to come up with any reason why I *shouldn't* get it.

But every Dell thread gets downvoted to oblivion because... reasons. So, genuine question: why should I pass on this?

Beware that Dell have recently started to decline Rakuten cashback if you also use a voucher. I’ve had to fight tooth and nail for my cashback twice now and got it as an “exception”. Probably buried somewhere in the Rakuten/Dell T&Cs that you can’t double dip?

I own this keyboard and am happy with it smooth switching from Desktop (2.4-nano), PC (BT5.0), Mac (BT5.0).

Haven’t had any lags, drops, repeats so far on Keys or Mouse

I had the older KM714 with mouse. This new model improved functionally. It makes that older model feel and perform like junk.. esp the mouse. Key feel is better too.

Note: I don’t game on these devices that I switch to…

Interesting data point. I know some retailers on Rakuten have an exclusion clause that say cashback will not be given if a coupon/discount code is used which was not listed on Rakuten.

Dell doesn't seem to have this exclusion.

I never knew Dell sold arm monitors. DAMN, so expensive! I bet it's high quality, unlike the HUANO that I keep seeing on RFD threads.
