They have 24" Ultrasharps in stock. Is 300-25% a good deal?

No free shipping kills the deal for me. New ones go on sale for ~$270 with free shipping. The refurbs work out to be a ~$30 savings with tax. Not worth it IMO.

Brand new 24" Ultrasharps are only ~ $270? I was hoping for at least 40 - 50% off on the Ultrasharps.

Yup, as recent as July with a $50 Dell gift card. It has gone even lower but not recently.

How are the desktops deals? I'm looking for a cheap but fast enough desktop or laptop that I can connect to TV to stream movies. Do you guys have any recommendations?

Not sure how quiet these small desktops are, but more than powerful enough to playback or stream video.

Personally I'd spend a little more and get something like a HP Stream Mini / Intel NUC / ASRock BeeBox. Smaller, lower power, possibly quieter, newer integrated GPU which does a better job of offloading video decoding, USB 3.0, DisplayPort, integrated WiFi, etc.

I'm interested in the T5500 workstation. Just wondering if it comes with a builtin wifi module. Anyone knows?

I have checked some Desktop with Xeon Quad Core, but they have only SATA 2 interface. I'm thinking to buy and replace HD with an SSD but SATA2 is limited at only 3G/s. I don't know if we can see a big difference with SATA3 or not ?

Current SSDs can easily exceed the bandwidth limit of a SATA 2 interface for sequential reads and even writes. In spite of this fact, even if I had a PC with only SATA 2 interfaces I'd still throw in an SSD since it will be superior to using a regular HDD.

I randomly looked up a laptop and it was a 2012 model. Really old. All the other models looked around the same time. The better had better be a new one (not refurb) for this price.

The monitors look really expensive. I wouldn't pay $300 for 24" even for ultrasharp.

How can you tell what year the laptop model is?

E6440 was introduced in 2014, ~ one refresh per year
E6430 = 2013
E6420 = 2012

Its getting old for a laptop even when you consider that its business grade. Also you don't know what kind of battery you'll get (number of recharge cycles) but if its a few years old you shouldn't expect much from it...

Their monitors are overpriced IMHO and their desktop/workstations as well even at 40% off...

I honestly don't understand why you guys keep buying from Dell refurb...
