[Dell] S2721Q 4K 60 Hz 27" IPS Monitor for work office use $339.99

First time poster, be nice!

Seems like a good deal for 4k monitor for office / work use. Response times really poor for gaming .

Thoughts? Hot?

The 10%OFFMONITOR code brings it down to $305.99. It's been around this price before, but this may be the ATL.

1+ for the deal. In my opinion though, the sweet spot for 27 inch is 1440p. I find 4k at this size too small, so you have to zoom, which negates any real estate gain. For productivity, it's a lot better to use two 27 inch 1440p monitor with one of them in portrait mode.

I own 2 (S2721QS) - The S is for the better stand (not fixed). When trying to decide between D or Q (2K vs 4K) I went with 4K (Q) as it was only an extra ~$90 although my main use is in 2K resolution. The ~$90 savings was not enough to make the downgrade or ~$90 increase was worth the upgrade even though my main use is in 2K resolution.

Dell 27 Monitor - S2721D (QHD 2560 x 1440) - CA$249.99 ($215 with 10%offmonitor)
Dell 27 4K UHD Monitor - S2721Q (4K 3840 x 2160) - CA$339.99 ($305 with 10%offmonitor)

Agreed. I also appreciate the surprise of finding out the price in the thread rather than the title.

Call me old fashioned, but kudos on not putting the price in the title, OP.
I aim to be inclusive and considerate of others in my posts. If I fall short of that mark, feel free to let me know in good faith, and where appropriate, I'll edit my posts. Thank you.

I have the 27" 4k and 2k Dell monitors for office, with a third screen at 24" 1080p. Windows puts 4k at 150% scaling so it looks just slightly smaller size bars and font next to each other. I do recommend it for work though as you can use smaller font without getting pixelated and have more of the document showing such as excel sheets.

This monitor is definitely not for work or office use.

4K at 27” is too small.

No height adjustable stand. That’s a requirement in any office.

I seriously recommend buying a fully adjustable monitor arm, don’t rely on the limited movement of a built in stand.

This the lowest price i've seen, Upvote for the price.

There was a long discussion about this monitor model some time ago.

Be aware that you may get 2721QS with yellow tint and\or blur edges (you may find some reviews and youtube videos on that), many people found that and returned it, me as well.
If you buy one only, you might be good, but if you buy a couple - high chance that you find noticeable picture difference, playing with RGB settings does not help much.

Later found Lenovo 28" 4K @ 280\each in Microsoft store - this one has no issues Dell had.

Gosh. Dell monitors? hahaha

I use two of the Acer 23.8" FHD 75Hz 4ms GTG IPS LED FreeSync Gaming Monitor (SA240Y) to extend my work laptop desktop (one on each side of the laptop) ... only cost me $139.99 each at Best Buy ... watched for it to go on sale.

For my desktop ... which is basically right beside my work laptop ... I use the Acer 27" 1080p HD 75Hz 1ms GTG TN LED Gaming Monitor (GF276 Abmipx) which I got on sale at Best Buy for $179.99 ... and i use it to stream while working.

Even at regular price ... the GF276 is a way better bargain than a Dell.

Is 2k and ips and better brand not worth the extra $35 to you?

Dell is not better than Acer

I have Dell's in the office and they are crap! I bought my own instead of using them and returned them to the office.

Can't complain when you actually get them on sale either.

Ok but acer is terrible as well. But forget subjective brand. What about ips panel and 2k. Not worth $35 for you?

Lol I don’t believe this. I am sure the Dell 27 inch 1440p I got trashes that FHD 27 inch acer. It’s the best screen I have looked at so far and our office had mostly acers and some dells to begin with so it’s not like I haven’t seen an acer.

I also have a LG 24 inch FHD monitor and 2k at 27 inch is far nicer to look at than FHD at 24 inch, let alone FHD at 27 inch, that would look absolute trash to me now.
