Agree to disagree. Anyone looking for a complete system right now will pay $1200+ for the same specs, including Windows 10 etc. And the $44 promo brings it down to basically $900.ID01 wrote: ↑ 570 at 4GB for $500 isn't really a price people are willing to pay. So I wouldn't include that. R7 1700X is also an odd buy, Even if we don't count the up coming Ryzen+ revision in 2 months, most people find more luck getting 1700 clocking pretty much exactly as well as 1700X.
Still, a very decent price, but not very hot in my opinion.

Ryzen R7 1700X is $407 on Amazon.ca right now, $460 on Newegg.ca. Lowest price, AVAILABLE, RX 570 right now I've seen is $480.n-ster wrote: ↑ Let's call it 950$ pre-tax since you pay tax on 1100$ not 946$, but also get that promo card.
RX 570 is like a GTX 970 / GTX 1060 3GB isn't it? So like 300-350$, the Ryzen 1700(X) worth 300~350$. Slow 8GB RAM for Ryzen is worth like 75$. A cheap B350 mobo is 75$. That's 800$ so far. Leaving 175$ for Windows, Case, 1TB HDD, PSU, CD, WIFI/Bluetooth and it being built for you.
I'd say this is a pretty great deal with the current market. If you think a 4GB GTX 570 is worth 500$, than it's an even better deal, but I'll go with my estimate of 350$ ish

I hadn't heard about Turing, good thing I just sold my GTX 1070 for significantly more than I bought it for!n-ster wrote: ↑ RX 570 performance card at 310$ https://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/MX70207. NVIDIA is coming out with "Turing" in March
Ryzen 1700 is actually just about the same as the X except it comes with a decent cooler, and I've seen it at 320~350$ a decent amount of times, 365$ right now, and Zen+ coming in april.
Honestly, 650$ for both of them is a generous evaluation and hardly a "deal" if normal full price a month before new releases is 675$.
Honestly the more I think about it, this is more of a pretty good deal than a great one.
EDIT: with the extra 50$ off maybe a great one afterall

For 1080p gaming GTX 1060/RX570/580 is all you need. This may be another deal you want to consider as I just posted it over on reddit, also Dell, similar to your system but more RAM. Also was the amount you paid with taxes?
