Ugh. Just saw this and of course "Sold out at $439". Starting price is now $100 more at $539.

Need a laptop for my kid for grade 4. Would have been nice if the teachers or school would have told us that each child needs their own device before the first day of school.

Would prefer to be around $200-$300, but since this is so last minute I may have to go above $300 (like this deal).

Any suggestions? @redflagdealsguy I saw your ebay post, but I'd prefer something I can get much quicker.

Thanks.

I got the 3590.. 15" one... more expensive and Oct 10 delivery ...see posts earlier . but I think with increased demand short of you going into a best buy your not getting (cheap) ones sooner due to demand.

$200 to $300 quick shipped to your door is a challenge. Possible, but challenging.

Disappointed Face I know. Trying to see what I can do to buy some time for some deals to come out. It just seems to be dry right now in the low end range.

This is mainly a heads up for those who ordered an i5, FHD 3590 laptop (TN FHD display panel most likely). Please contact Dell to confirm display specs on the 3590 and the upcoming 3490 FHD.

Starting on September 18th 6:00AM EST, Dell Canada will add four (4) laptops to this Semi Annual Sale. Among them it will be a Vostro 14 3490 with FHD screen, i5-10210U, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM, etc. for $649 discounted price (regular $799FHD). Reading in page 16 of the Vostro 3490 Owner's Manual such FHD screen is IPS. Applying the current promos: $(649-50)*0.9 = $549.1 and cashback $43 for an equivalent pretax price of around $510+. Though I think Dell has already caught on the $50 off discount code (or it reached its availability limit) because I tried it on some other products and it wouldn't work. Let's see if anyone can find another discount coupon that works.

Regarding laptops under $300 in this Dell Semi Annual Sale, there isn't any in Dell for Work. There might be 2 or 3 at Dell for Home in the $300-$400 bracket that might get their price reduced using email signup coupon, UniDays college student discount (DO NOT offer/request/hint need/ask about it/etc in this thread, go to unidays.ca and read their FAQ/Help), Rakuten cashback is at 2% for Dell Consumer and Dell Rewards is still 3% IINM. Unfortunately the cheapest models use a Celeron 4205U (2C/2T) which has a passmark of around 1300 (low for today's standards). In addition (TBC) their RAM might be not upgradeable. IMO, these laptops are not quite attractive.

3490 FHD, i5, SSD laptop on sale as blockbuster item: already claimed 62% -- Peeps look urged for laptops.

===

Edit: Pretty much OOS by 2 PM. I guess Dell didn't have that many of these at sale price.

Dell shipping used to be pretty snappy. This year, it may not. Dell's estimated shipping date for the 3490: within 11-15 working days. Dell's estimated shipping date for a 7500: within 6-8 working days. Given these differences, it seems that their estimates for shipping date are accurate (i.e., not a generic caveat. Conservatives? that's anyone's guess). I guess that if Dell ships past its estimates, rfdealers will be bitching and demanding compensation.

It's not worth it, trust me. The laptop takes nearly 15 mins to boot up.
I bought the laptop around 4 months back and it's a waste of time and money.

Dell cancelled my order for the 3590 (i5, 256gb ssd). They said that one of the components is EOL. I'm assuming this is BS? It is still for sale on the site.🤷

Edit: Said CPU was EOL at first. Transfered to business sales and they obviously said that was wrong, but they said the config was EOL, whatever that means. Got it re-ordered in the end.

How's Vostro 5501? I managed to bring the price down to 799 minus 8% rakuten with 100 off coupon from other thread and 10% off email sign up.
