Review and liquid cooling upgrade for this exact machine (except the colour), resulting in cpu temp going down by 30 celcius:

Of course, like any Dell desktop thread, obligatory Gamer Nexus and Coil Whine videos:

The difference between this and the PC in Gamers Nexus series is that the graphics card is actually good. Teardown here:

I think they have discontinued it at least temporarily. Maybe they are launching another updated lineup with either 11th gen Intel or (hopefully) AMD Ryzen?

Why is this getting downvoted? Because it's a Dell prebuilt? :O

3060ti is worth 549$ (msrp, sells for 1300$ on ebay if non LHR), and add another 50$ to match the wifi 6 card if you want (didn't include because who uses wifi to game on a desktop).

Not too bad of a price.

I received a code from Email after creating a brand new email that was NOT Google/Hotmail.

Go to Dell.ca, find a product (I don't think it works from the Main Dell Page)
and click on Deals / Email Signup.

IslandDeal wrote: Thanks OP ! I'm very tempted to upgrade my 7 year old Dell XPS 8700 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz and this would be a great replacement.

This is the Same model with a 12GB video card and it will let you change the Config (IE: "Upgrade CPU, Drives, etc)

The 8GB 3060 Ti in my link is much better than the 12GB 3060. Please get the 8GB Ti variant as it's the same core and memory bandwidth with the 3070 (and in this instance, cheaper than 3060 non-Ti configuration with more HDD space).

Thanks for the breakdown. The PSU in Dell computers is actually Platinum rated so it's a couple of grades above Bronze and REALLY efficient.

Yup, to put numbers to it - The 3060 is about 30% slower than the 3060ti.
The 3060ti is the best value (lol value) of current gen GPUs.

The 3060ti is worth $550?

Look luck getting a non LHR version for under 1k right now. I'd love to live in that fantasy land where they are $550.

Anyone have any idea if this card is LHR?

How good is the power supply, or will I need to swap it out for something better? I’m pretty sure they are cutting corners here and there, just want to make sure that there is room for upgrade going forward…

If you don't mind amd, reference cards are easily obtainable at msrp.

You might even be able to convince some fools on Kijiji to sell you their 6900xt at msrp.

There is a chance it's not, but no one knows for sure.
