Original price: $1299
After Dell Email Signup, you may get 10% off coupon, that makes the price to $1169.10. (It took me half an hour to receive the email)
With $100 Off coupon code SAVE100SBAFFFY21Q3, the price will be $1069.10.
When you use Rakuten Canada for Dell Technologies for Work, you will get 8% cash back, which is about $85.50. The final price will come to $984 before tax.
Don't forget Amex platinum 10% cash back (until the end of September) if you have, which will make the final price with tax under $1000. Thanks for setlist's update on #33:
setlist wrote: For those lucky enough to have signed up for the Amex Platinum 10% back on dell purchases there's that discount as well.

I ran the number for my case, using BC tax rates:

Regular Price $1,649.00
Sale discount -$350.00
Code: Dell Email Sign Up -$129.90
Code: SAVE100SBAFFFY21Q3 -$100.00

Sub-total $1,069.10
Tax (12%, BC GST+PST) $128.29

Total with BC Tax $1,197.39

Rakuten -$85.53
Amex platinum 10% cash back -$119.74

Adjusted total with cashback $992.12
Effective pre-tax price (removing 12% BC tax GST+PST) $885.83
Effective discount vs. regular price 46.3%
It is hardly to get a new gen XPS under $1000, this is a great chance, especially if you have a WIN10 key or you know how to get a discount or even free versionFace With Tears Of Joy.

Notes (updated): LIMITED QUANTITY and shipping in 10-13 business days (This means if Dell charges AMEX card on the same day of shipment after Sep 30th, cash back may not be qualified. But better to call Dell and AMEX to confirm)

For those who are looking for newer and more powerful model, XPS 13 9300 Developer Edition is also on sale for $1699, and around $1314 after all promotions. It comes with i7-1065G7, 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD. Link: https://www.dell.com/en-ca/work/shop/la ... p1c2200uca

Nice deal. I have last years model (XPS 13 9380) and really like it, but these models with the 10th gen CPUs look good too. I'll sit tight for now and see what pops up during the BF/CM sales.

I have had an older version for my work for about three years with 0 issues. I wouldn't get any laptop besides this or a high-level Lenovo.

A "Developer Edition" with only 8GB of RAM? Right Smiling Face With Open Mouth Docker and Java Virtual Machine will eat this laptop alive! I guess the 16GB option would be the minimum, but with a ~30% price increase. Upvoted OP because a deal is a deal.

RAM is for XPS13, not SSD. I upgraded my 2017 XPS with 1TB SSD.

Nice - I wish Dell offered more laptops with LTE adapters as an add-on option. I had to go business level to get that feature.

Man, why would a "developer" laptop not have upgradeable RAM, especially if it only comes with 8GB?! How did they think this was what developers would want. If they stuck 32GBs in there, then sure, you reasonably would not need to upgrade it. But 8???

Do we need a 'work' account or something of that sorts? Or any account at dell will work?

There's a version that is not upgradeable which is the 7390 2019 version. They did away with that as consumers complained

This 7390 DE is the 2020 version so the SSD is upgradeable

OP should add that this is the 2020 model as to not confuse people with the non upgradeable 2019 model

I had the 7390 and the 9300 at separate times

Great machines but my biggest issue with them, especially the 9300, was when you lift the machine with one hand say to move it, because it’s so thin and the way they constructed the laptop, there was a lot of flex and that made the trackpad click. Less so with the 7390 but the coil wine was an issue that annoyed me

I ended up going with a razer blade in the end. No issues with build quality on that machine aside from the pads on the bottom that seem to fall off too easily

Dell machines are great but just wanted to point that out. I also had coil wine with my 7390 but not the 9300; however I had the flex issue w the 9300

I prefer the 9300 for the 16:10 display. Going to 16:9 on razer was a compromise but just pointing out to prospective buyers what for me were legitimate issues with the 7390 and the 9300

Tempted... I just got my zenbook 14 4700u from Costco for $1010. Hardware-wise it's going to be a downgrade but XPS just looks wayyy nicer and USB-C PD... sigh..

Does Costco still carry that model? Both Zenbook and XPS are great designed. I may consider XPS if they gave same level specs and prices. But $1000 for 4700u is also tempting.
