Dell XPS 15 (9570) broken screen replacement

Hi,

my XPS's screen got cracked and I'm wondering do I need to completely replace the whole screen assembly (like the on in link below) or is it possible to replace just the LCD panel inside?
Bezels, hinges and even the camera is fine so I'm wondering it is possible to replace just the faulty part (i.e. LCD panel) ?

You'll have to open the laptop up and check for yourself. I have no way of knowing what kind of damage is inside. They have a video posted on the site you linked of how to install the part(in the product images). I suggest you take a look.

thanks for the reply. yes, i know what is damaged (it is LCD panel), but what i don't know is, if display assembly (bezel, webcam etc) can be further disassembled to replace just the LCD panel.
The video on the website only shows how to remove the complete assembly. I believe it is not possible as all the videos i have seen so far, everyone replaces the whole thing, but i thought to ask RFD experts :)

The service manual says the whole assembly must be replaced regardless if it's just one component that's broken. Probably too much tape, glue, solder, etc to be user-replaceable.

Maybe you can answer your own question with some more replacement parts research. Does anyone sell the LCD without the complete housing? If they do, is it enough of a monetary, labour and peace of mind savings? For example if it is $20 more to get the whole things vs. just the LCD screen, I'd pay that much more.
c'mon get happy!
