[Dell] XPS15 i7 16Gb RAM, 256Gb SSD, 1050Ti - $1599

Long time lurker, but my first deal post here, so be nice :). I’ve been monitoring this particular build for a few weeks and this is the lowest it has been, and compared to other brands, I think it’s a good deal. If it’s really bad please lemme know so I can cancel my order before it ships lol. This price fluctuates daily so it will likely be a different price by tomorrow.

Sale price is $1749, use $150off$1700PC code to get $150 off, bringing it down to $1599. Ebates is also giving 10% cash back on this deal, and Dell advantage memebership (or whatever it’s called gives you up to$47 back). If ebates comes through then this PC would cost just $1440 lol.

I7 8750H six core CPU
16Gb RAM
256Gb SSD
1080p Full sRGB NON TOUCH screen
GTX 1050Ti 4Gb VRAM
97wH battery

This is NOT a gamer computer and I’m not buying for that. I edit videos casually, and play some light games, and use it for producticity stuff, so this suits what I use it for at what I think is a great price. I looked at the Lenovo 720s land 730 as well but this seems like a better machine for the same price with this sale. The Dell G series and Lenovo Legion series are not metal and don’t feel premium enough for my snobbish tastes, despite having better specs at almost the same price.

Decent specs sheet, relatively thin profile, a bit of a womp womp on the 1050 though.

Pity.

This isn't a gaming laptop. It's not meant to get hot. Looks like a great computer. I just don't like the keyboard. Other than that it looks great for the money. their Surface Pro goes for even more than this and has half the specs...

Good deal but how does this stack up against the Matebook X Pro?

The screen on the Matebook X Pro is better and has much higher resolution and is a touch screen. However, this has upgradable RAM and a much newer and powerful CPU, so should be way more future proof.

I got this build in the mail a few days ago, it took 3 weeks to get here. The build quality is good but the speakers are terrible. There is noticible distortion at 50% volume and anything over 70% gets very bad. I'm returning it. The black carbon fiber is a huge finger print magnet.

I decided to got with the white xps13 for travel and build a desktop for heavy use.

Then they should've gone with an MX150, the 1050 tells me they were trying... but failed.

10% cash back on ebates and possibly 10% or Unidays makes it hotter?

Screen is awesome even though it isn't 4K. Given the size, most people can't tell the difference. The panel outputs 400nits if it is the same one on my low end XPS 15.

The MX150 is totally worthless, Just a power draw, every time I see it I think waste of cash.

These types of computer already throttle under load, a real GPU would burn your house down AND throttle under load. You want a thicker laptop for that, or better yet just buy a desktop.

This is a good deal for those who are interested in it. It goes on sale periodically but usually $100 more. Bob of All Trades didn't recommend it because of poor thermals but if you don't push it hard it's probably ok.
