[DellRefurbished.ca] Dell Latitude 3400 (Refurb) 14" FHD, i5-8265U, 8 GB/256 GB SSD - Today only - Grade B Gone, Grade A - $247

Use code LTLOVE20 (extra 20% off)
Today is final day of code working BTW

For B Grade model this makes it $223 + Shipping and Tax
Reg price on this site was 330 + Shipping and Tax

15 remaining on B grade. Similar number for A grade.

--

Update:
Grade B is gone. Only grade A for 247 + tax and shipping (after code).

would this be better then a gen 2 - 3 core i7 desktop?

i have one setup as a media server but i'd like to ditch the tower for a smaller footprint if possible

This is about the speed of a 3th gen i7 with 15w of power. So, no, not really much better.

Thanks for the feedback.

I’ll need transcoding so looks like a gen8 laptop cpu would be better for my needs

If your media server have to transcode video, the 8th gen will be much more powerful because of the more recent Intel UHD Graphics can transcode 4K HEVC.

Availability just jumped to 29 of the B grade and 30+ of the A grade. Good value here.
