[Lowe's] Dewalt DW713 10" Compound Miter Saw PM for $170

Amazon.ca has the DEWALT DW713 10-Inch Compound Miter Saw on for $199 with free shipping.

Lowe's has it for $299. The Lowe's PM policy should give you 10% of their price as a discount for a total of $170.

I wish I needed one of these by my craptire one serves me well still.

I've only ever been able to get them to match the price, no extra 10% off. Most times you have to try 2-3 stores before you find one that will match the price

This one is single bevel, non-sliding. You are better off getting the DW718 for double the price.

Edit: changed dw748 to dw718

Lowe's will only match the price for online only retailers , they won't beat by 10%. Additional 10% off is only applicable to other retail stores such as Home Depot and Rona. Their price match policy states this and my experience with pm'ing Amazon hasn't been any different.

I agree the single bevel, non-sliding is a little limited, but personally I almost never bevel at all (even one way) because I can make those cuts more accurately on a table saw. Also there is no DW748 I am aware of, the DWE7480 is the table saw I have, their complete mitre saw range is as follows:

DW712 - 8.5" Single Bevel Sliding
DW713 - 10" Single-Bevel
DW715 - 12" Single-Bevel
DW716 - 12" Double-Bevel
DW717 - 10" Double-Bevel Sliding
DW718 - 12" Double-Bevel Sliding

I was able to PM with the 10% this past year for my dewalt table saw and my dewalt router. One was from a tool site and one was amazon.CA. I called the Lowes website for each and did the pm over the phone, but picked up my product in the store. I have found shipping costs to be the only gotcha that trips me up with a Lowes price match.

I've got an older version of this, looks slightly different, but 10" Single bevel non-slider. It works very well for basic uses (framing, deck, etc) Haven't tried using it for trim or any truly precise work, but it cuts straight and accurately. I have done some angled cuts for a guard on deck stairs, and no problem at all. Consistent, accurate cuts, pretty good for an inexpensive miter saw. I bought mine used for $90USD though when the dollar was better, not $200.

The person who recommended picking up teh DW718 instead, that's definitely overkill for the average user. Unless you're a carpenter, or doing a LOT of trim/crown/precise work requiring the dual bevel or cutting 2x8s, there's not a ton of need for the 12" dual slider. Plus, the DW718 is out of stock at amazon.ca, Amazon.com wants $800 USD. Definitely overkill.
