DHL from China to Toronto fees/duties

Ordered a minicam for $102CAD last thursday and its scheduled to arrive by Friday the 23rd with DHL express from China to Toronto. What kind fees/duties should I expect to pay and are they paid on the spot? Thanks

If I remember correctly, DHL will call you later telling you that you owe them money for duties. They will give you a URL to their website and a unique number (which could already be on the slip attached to the package). You enter the unique number and it will say you owe $x amount which should match what the person tells you on the phone.

I have no idea how much they would charge you if anything. They charged me like $33 for my OnePlus One like 3 1/2 years ago.

If I remember correctly:

14.25 fee
3.00 some other fee
* tax
= $19.49

Hst on 102
=13.26+the above
= 32.75~ at the door

So 40% is real taxes, 60% is their fee :facepalm:

I recently got charged by DHL $77.55 for something that was valued at around $410. So maybe you'll get dinged somewhere around $20-25

I would budget $35 in taxes/duties/fees for this kind of purchase.

Hopefully it just slips through customs... my $299USD watch recently made it from Japan without any customs :)

Thanks for all the estimates and replies, it turns out it was $20.05 total. Not too bad
