Disney cuts off content to rep cinemas

Bad news but no surprise when consolidation happens. No more Die Hard Christmas screenings at your independent cinema...

We all should have seen this coming yet most fanboys could only think of Fox's Marvel properties going back to Marvel Studios and not the wider ranging aspects of Disney's Fox purchase.

It's too bad.

Disgusting.

Unfortunately, few people seem to be aware (or they simply don't care) about the strong arm tactics Disney regularly uses to get what it wants.

Is there more to this story than a twitter post?

I figure Disney is going to want to make money any way they can off their catalogue.

It is interesting, but unfortunately not that newsworthy. Wal-Mart, Amazon, Nintendo, Apple, and sooooo many others have used strong-arm tactics once they were in an advantageous position like Disney's.
Anyway what do you expect from the company that eliminated copyright laws so they could profit off their characters 'to infinity, and beyond'?
c'mon get happy!

Disney needs to be broken up and taken out of the propaganda business.
Perhaps they plan on streaming all this content.
Won"t be subscribing to this or any streaming service.
Much too much free entertainment and artists deserving attention.
Intercourse Disney
Perhaps good for films from other countries.

I"m waiting for Net Flix Movie Theatres.

Apparently the news broke over a month ago.

More information in that Twitter thread.

This is really sad news because I frequent the Cinesphere at Ontario Place a lot and watch several classic films there. I'm sure many movie titles will be affected at this theatre. Last Christmas was just amazing watching "Die Hard" on the biggest screen with the best sound system in the GTA.

Cinesphere has once again added the original "Die Hard" back to their holiday season movies next month. So is Die Hard really a Christmas movie or not? LOL
