There is a notice regarding BYD N95 masks here: https://www.byd.care/pages/user-notice

I bought 10 masks from here:
https://www.idsdental.com/kin95renicem. ... fullsite=1
They say the masks are N95 NIOSH Kimberly-Clark Made in USA, but I expect they'll cost about 10 CAD each with shipping.

I have also bought Maxill level 3 masks with head band from here
https://www.maxill.com/ca/maxill-aquist ... masks.html

I have previously bought from Maxill level 2 masks (tie on) and I am happy with them, they stay very tight on the face and I use them on public transit. The small gap on the side I can seal it very easily with tape. The metal strip on the nose works very well, my glasses very rarely got foggy.
BYD N95 is available on their official Canadian website. Unfortunately you have to order 100 minimum, but it'd be much cheaper than the other website you quoted above.

Why? Because that parameter is defined by ASTM. That organization is based in a country that does not use SI.
ASTM used to be American Society for Test Methods. I never tripped over them before.
Like too many standards organizations, ASTM partially funds themselves by selling copies of their standards. Really a bad idea. For the pandemic, they let you read some standards, at no charge, through a miserable on-line PDF reader.

From reading ASTM F2299/F2299M-03(17) , it looks like the standard ASTM F778 - 88(2014) "Standard Methods for Gas Flow Resistance Testing of Filtration Media" is the one to read but it still costs US$56, so I won't.

F2299 says:
1.3 The values stated in SI units or in other units shall be regarded separately as standard. The values stated in each system must be used independently of other, without combining values in any way.
That seems like terrible wording. I imagine the intent is that one would be allowed to convert within each system but not between systems. And that there are probably only two systems that they contemplate (SI an the US version of Imperial, whatever that's called) i.e. that MKS and CMS are considered the same system.

This seems terrible. Just use SI. The US agreed to do that in the 1970s.

Wait a second: "mm" (of mercury ,at some temperature and pressure)" is a hybrid: mm is SI and the rest isn't. So it already breaks the spirit of F2299 11.3 since it mixes two systems.

Thanks OP.
Took the plunge and ordered these:
* CRC Ear Loop Mask (EU Type 2R masks - $28.50/bag of 50)
On sale at half price. 2 packs. Shipping and taxes ~@20 to Toronto. Shipping was quick, handled by Purolator.

These are spares. Won't know they are any good until I use them later. Came in plastic wrap, no box, identical to the pics on the website.
Communications were good, from ordering to mailing. I asked a few questions and they responded fairly quickly.
Made by GAUKE Healthcare in China. Registered with FDA. Executive standard EN14683 2019. These are Type IIR masks, equivalent to Level 2 I think. I figured since it is branded by Red Cross, but inventory/stock managed by Hawktree Solutions (a private company under license to host and manage the Canadian Red Cross merchandise shop), there must be some credibility there.

https://www.globalindustrial.ca/p/safet ... 0-n95-8200

3M™ 8200/07023(AAD) N95 Disposable Particulate Respirator, Box of 20 Price: $26.95
Price is not necessarily unusual - 8200 is pretty cheap (it is the most barebone of the 3M N95 products). Other retails like ULine and Grainger sell for similar price (assuming they have stock).

The question is: how long have those masks been sitting for? Normally they are good for about 3-5 years only. If they have a large supply of them, are they fresh or stale stock?

It's very possible you are right, because they also sell Makrite respirators for $148 / box of 20

OP, I just talked with PH, the mask you quoted was discontinued. I questioned why they are still selling it online and was told they will change it sooner or later

Medicom masks are not sold directly to consumers - you will have to find a reseller organization that has them in stock.
