Disposing of Metal Credit Cards

How are people disposing of their metal credit cards when the account is closed OR you've received a replacement card because of expiry date changes etc. I have a card I need to securely dispose of.

Typically there is an envelope included in your welcome package of your card that you use to send back a cancelled/expired metal card back to the issuer. If you don't have that then I suggest calling the issuer to get that resolved.

Bolt cutters or any other tools works just fine too if you want to do it the old fashioned way.

just toss it while it has some info on it its kinda useless. once the card is cancelled its of no real value.

im sure you can break it in half and destroy the chip part with a nail and hammer

You can also rub the numbers/info off with an alcohol based hand sanitizier... as some people learned during the pandemic.

Just keep it. It's a card, get a card holder and stack them if you churn. It's not a couch lol.
