The same combo was on sale at Amazon Canada for $1000.
Can we still get 15% off for Students from DJI?

I was initially excited and then get to know there is a Air 2s - and now I am not excited anymore.

Permits are pretty easy to obtain though.

Just so people know.

Yes but many people just buy it and fly it out of the box thinking its a toy unaware about permit requirements

Level 1 permit is useless especialy if you're in GTA. You can not fly in virtually anywhere.
Level 2 permit is near impossible to obtain. You will either end up playing it at your own risk, or buying a DJI Mini instead.

Is there something preventing you from flying this without a permit?

Your answer is not very helpful.

I was curious if there are any checks on the device itself, like having to upload documentation before flying, or maybe it's restricted via GPS coordinates.

DJI has a built in map in the app and the unit has GPS so it knows if you are launching in a restricted area and will prevent a launch

Nothing more over what the restrictions are for mini. The basic airports zones and stuff.

Only difference is you will get a fine if you don't have a permit and you will be found compared to a mini.

Why would you need the level 2 permit?
