Do I earn PC points on Shoppers' Gift card or Prescription? [ON]

I applied for a new PC world Elite MC recently and I spend quite a lot [25k/year] on prescriptions every year. Currently, I am using Tangerine MC to get 2% cash back on my prescriptions bought from shoppers. It's pretty sweet. Recently I noticed that PC world Elite gives 45 pt for every *eligible* $1 spent at Shoppers. That's 4.5% in pts. the question is if buying prescriptions or Shoppers' gift cards is considered an eligible purchase.

Has anyone tried that before? or are there any other credit cards that give more cash back? Please comment.

No 4.5%. Only 3%.
You can get Scotia or CIBC Inf. Visa for 4% on grocery category or MBNA RWE MC for 5x on grocery.

Shoppers doesn't count as grocery, it's a drugmart category.

Simple Solution: buy SDM gc from a grocery store first.

Most internal rewards systems wont give you elevated points unless its for a specific promotion. Usually prescriptions and giftcards are specifically mentioned as exempt.

If there a reason you have to get your prescriptions filled at a Shoppers? When we shopped around, we found them to be at the extreme high end of pricing. We dont have 25K, more like 5k, but we get all of ours at FreshCo Pharmacy, pay with a Cobalt and get 5% back minimum.

My insurance company only allows my prescription to be dispensed from a number of pharmacies. I remember those in the groceries are excluded. But I will call tomorrow to check if their list has changed. It will be nice to have 5% cash back.
