Do you know anything about rebates other than what I know?

Those are the big 4.
I use 3 of them regularly … AMs + A + R

I think some of the Hotel Loyalty Programs also offer shopping portals (vaguely recall )
But I haven’t used them

I think TD Rewards has something (never used it). As for points, there are lots of programs.

I use TopCashback much more than either Rakuten.com or .ca. The frequently have $2.50 bonuses that only require a $10 purchase. Small amount, sure, but it all adds up. ;)

Those are Loyalty Reward Programs
Not the same category as a Rebate Website

Rebate websites allow you to acquire Cash Back or Points Back thru using a Shopping Portal for OTHER Retailers

Most Loyalty Reward Programs are a closed loop
You only earn and can spend within tight parameters
With partners that are members within the Loyalty Program
There is no shopping portal

Example …

PCO Partners = Loblaws Group - SDM Group - Beauty Boutique - Joe Fresh - and Esso / Mobil

Versus …

AirMiles = all of AirMiles Full Partners + more than 300 others on AirMiles Shops.ca Shopping Portal = https://www.airmilesshops.ca/en/directory#shops

Same with Aeroplan … Lots of Full Partners + hundreds of associate partners thru their Shopping Portal = https://aeroplan.rewardops.com/en-CA/home/brands?

I would think Airmiles and Aeroplan are in the same categories as the ones I listed. The only difference is you have to spend the reward points
In a smaller vs. Large group of merchants. Technically, Airmiles and Aeroplan are not rebates. They are rewards such that you have to spend the rewards. Rakuten and GCR are true rebates such that you get cash back without spending it any more.

You are right … Rakuten & GCR are Shopping Portals with true rebates … in that you earn Cash Back

But … most Loyalty Rewards Programs DO NOT have Shopping Portals where you earn points back for shopping at Associate Partners.

Most you are just STUCK WITHIN a very closed partnership loop

That’s what PCO is, Cdn Tire Down-pointing Red Triangle Rewards, and the others you listed

No where else to earn than a short list.

Also cuz of the Associate Partnership … these other Programs often allow one to exchange points earned for GCs for their associated partners.

Example … AirMiles Cash Rewards = https://rewards.airmiles.ca/cashrewards ... _filter=ON

The ones you listed … doesn’t do that either

Lot more freedoms come with Shopping Portals & Associated Partnerships
For both earning & redeeming

my experience with aeroplan rewardops has not been good as have not seen not any aeroplan rewards come through since July. Not sure if using Safari on ipad is the issue.

I know the thread is old but Checkout 51 App is a pretty good cashback app.
