Does Indeed resume upload option really work to get calls/ interviews?

I am thinking on uploading my resume in Indeed. Has this been helpful for you? I am looking for a job in banks

Its worked wonders for me. But dont expect for banks to directly look in the indeed database. You might get a recruiter hiring on a temporary basis for a bank.

Why banks? If you can avoid banks altogether, you will do well.

Do they call you or just send spam emails? Ive gotten a lot of lazy "we invite you to.." emails but no calls

Its with recruiter contact details. I can click interested which is more passive than calling the number. If you call the number the conversation gets somewhere.

Usually, banks have their own agencies to look for candidates.

I had to remove my profile/resume after I uploaded and forgot about it.
I kept getting calls from different recruiters from the same agency for irrelevant roles.
Just felt like spam to me.

I don't think a general answer helps. The amount of chase you will get from employers and recruiters will depend on the industry and quality of resume. Another way to look at it is...putting it up COULD lead to something. Whereas not putting it up will maintain status quo.

I always compare job searching to dating. A pretty lady will get approached even if she doesn't use any dating sites. If she chooses to, she expands her search but will have a ton of people to filter. Same logic when you upload your resume. If you are a high school grad, didn't do much volunteer work, have spelling/formatting issues on your resume, don't have any work experience, nobody will call you.

With that said, lots of people want a bank job because they want a big company, and sit in an office. The big banks all have their own career section on their website. I don't see why they would need to go look for you when they have qualified people applying through their own channel.

As long as the company says they use Indeed to filter resumes then uploading it there is helpful, for banks except some smaller banks you would have to go to their website. Indeed is good for quickly sending out a bunch of resumes to small or medium sized companies around your area, expect to have to filter out some sales or scam like phone calls but if you use Indeed well it can be anything you want it to be.
