Does Pureology make Costco Canada Shampoo ? Different from US

Who makes Costco (Kirkland Moisture) Shampoo in Canada ? Is also Pureology as the US one is rumoured to be. Ours is in a different bottle and also an online commenter mentioned that it says, "Made in Canada with organic extracts" whereas the US version does not say this. Also we pay slightly less per bottle. I think they pay ~$11 and we pay ~$8. I doubt that we are randomly getting the same high quality product for less in Canada but I hope I'm wrong. Has anyone used both ours and the US version ? Can you compare ?

Hate to necro this, but here goes.....

I investigated the Canadian Kirkland Shampoo today. There is no way that it is a pureology formulation. Also the bottle labels it as "Made in Canada"....so I narrowed my search to Canadian made shampoos.

I found that Marc Anthony brands are an exact match on the ingredient list (some are printed other different names like "argania spinosa kernal oil" instead of "argan oil" but it is the same product.

Marc Anthony is also no longer sold at my local Costco stores so that is telling. So in Canada you are buying Marc Anthony shampoo which explains why it is cheaper than the American Kirkland Shampoo.

I switched to this shampoo and almost immediately my entire forehead broke out. Took me a couple weeks to figure out the culprit.
Too bad because it was a good price and I generally like Costco products

I was just in a Canadian Costco this weekend and bought the Kirkland Signature Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner.

I too am wondering if it’s the same or not. The ingredients are definitely different than the US version but I know that Canada has stricter rules on what ingredients can be used in beauty/personal care products. I haven’t used the US version yet but my hair feels exactly like the way the reviews said it would so it must be very similar to the US version. Plus I didn’t think a company could have a product with the same name but be completely different products in each country.

Oh and the store that I went to had Marc Anthony Shampoos and Conditioners right next to the Kirkland’s.

One way to check if manufacturer X makes house brand products is, after you have narrowed it down, look for the expiry and/or lot number that's printed on the bottle/container and compare the printing (size, font, placement, etc.) to see if it's the same. The house brand will make the packaging look different than the brand name product, of course, but the factory isn't going to change the expiry/lot# printer.

Note that manufacturers may use different factories, so even within one brand name product, the expiry/lot# printing might be different.

100% sure the Kirkland shampoo is exactly the same as Purology, except for the fragranced added at the end of production. Both are made in the Loréal Factory in Montreal and I know for a fact it is just a different fragrance and different bottle...
