You could buy a tuner (something like a HD Homerun or a tuner card) for your computer. Then set up NextPVR (Windows) or MythTV (Linux). Then you could connect any size of storage you want to the computer.

The downside is that it takes some effort to set up and you'd need to have the computer running in order to record.

Bell Satellite PVR could use a drive up to 2TB. But you might be able to add drives to existing cable TV PVRs. I don't have cable, so I don't know. My old DVD recorder could add drives up to 6TB in size. You will have to check with your cable or satellite provider to find out for sure...
