[Dollarama] 4$ - Neon Light - Pink Flamingo/Blue Unicorn/Pink Unicorn

Spotted these at Dollarama (Angrignon near Boston Pizza) for 4$, which is a great price.
Saw these things sold in various places but their asking price were closer to 20$.

They offer 3 variations - Pink Flamingo, Blue Unicorn, and Pink Unicorn.
The blue unicorn of course can be identified by the blue sticker on the base.

They are battery operated 3xAA (not included).
I would personally recommend buying an alligator clip usb cord to easily hack it into a usb powered device.

Word of warning Dollarama's supplier decided to use some really bad stickers for the labeling and battery warning at the bottom of the base.
It's so bad that it is impossible to cleanly remove and I needed to use some goo gone to clean up the adhesive.

There is a new Dollarama next door to my work. I had never been in a Dollarama until a few months ago. I actually really like it. Good for the odd thing, prices seem reasonable and they do carry some name brands, especially junk food.

Only issue is the store is an area with a lot of less fortunate people for whatever reasons. Sometimes a wee bit scary. I feel bad for the workers who have to deal with this all day long.

Water loo
I have a cactus version of this. It turns off after 6 hours and back on 18 hours later, repeat. But battery life still sucks - maybe a week.

Can it be removed from the base?
The light's attached to the base and isn't intended to be removed.
However the point where the light is attached to the base looks like a separate piece of plastic, like this quick and dirty example if you stared down on the base: ( [light] )
So If you did wish to hack it you could probably remove it off the base.

Thanks OP.
Although I am willing to bet that it is not a real neon-gas-discharge fluorescent tube, just some LEDs covered in coloured plastic.

I stopped by Scarborough Towne and they had a ton of them (blue/pink Unicorn & flamingo).

I took a look at the construction and it's flimsy IMO, but I guess what do you expect for $4.00? Anyways, decided against the purchase for my daughter, even though it's battery operated, just looks questionable.

If you're single though, @Mahawka sounds like he got the right idea. Winking Face
