This is not a sale price, but a great price compared to all other sources. The Silicon (BPA Free) Collapsible filter holder works with a #2 filter. Prices from other sources are in the $15-20 range.
We use one of these when traveling to Europe to make our own coffee - I prefer this to the cafeteria coffee pots (e.g. Bodum), which are omnipresent in Europe.

Roughly which aisle can I find this in?
That really depends on the store. Ask where the camping stuff is.

Didn't find it in the GTA Yonge/Dundas Dollarama - they had other "Camp" products (collapsible bowl, collapsible coffee cup) in the small camping section

Oomomo carries small "brown" filters for $2 that fits the red Melitta drip - I imagine it would work with this too

Yes. If you look at the images, you will see this beside a Melita red single cup brewer.

If you are looking for a deal on filters, the cheapest I have found are the white Selection #2 - 150 filters for $3.50 at Food Basics and sometimes Metro.
I would prefer to use the brown filters, but I am too cheap - they are at least twice the price per filter.

It's not a novelty, they've had it for at least 2 years.

It appeared in Ottawa last year as a seasonal product, arriving after Easter, sold out before end of June. Vancouver may be different.

Somewhat unrelated but for one cup of drip coffee, how many tablespoons of ground coffee does one add?

I use 2 heaping teaspoon of the McDonalds grind (in the Costco sized tin can)

Edit: Found it on GTA Queen Street East store, thanks OP - also will be using this in Croatia next month

I think it depends on how strong you like your coffee. My usual ratio is 2 cups water to 1 heaping tablespoon of ground.
