You won't have to worry about it soon the single use plastics ban is coming soon. No more bags by Earth day at Walmart.

Why would you think that? They'll just offer reusable bags like FreshCo has already done

Do they round up to 10 cents then?

Ya bag charging is just the era we live in now
It’s become common place

After Sobeys Group stopped doing plastic bags during Covid
And switched over to paper
They charged for them too

* I cannot recall how much … somewhere between 5 & 15 cents a bag I think
Doesn’t affect me.. we’ve been BYOBags for years already
Cotton, Nylon, Poly, Canvas .. or just reuse a previous plastic ones
For big grocery Orders we use PC+ Plastic Bins … or Costco foldable crates
All easily stored in the trunk of our car

Honestly … we love our Bins & Crates
When packing groceries in the store we sort as we go
Pantry - Fridge - Freezer … makes unloading at home a breeze

More so if we are in a hurry and somewhere else to go after groceries
Back home … we Just get to the Freezer & Fridge Bins first
And leave the other unpacking for later

at value village they make u pay 10 cents for a crappy paper bag that don't even have handles my guess in when stores can't use plastic they will start offering crappy paper bags witch are super awesome when it rains.

Are you buying just an empty plastic bag and nothing else?

I think it was 2011 calling actually. I thought people had long understood penny rounding by now.

I hated those bags back in the day but at least they were free. I very much preferred the department store paper bags with handles.

Some cashier will just bag it for you and not charge. Not just dollarama but lots of stores are like that. Of course some will auto charge and bag you when you specifically ask them not to (and clearly have a reusable bag with you)… specially Richmond (bc) t&t.

They have been charging 8c for a plastic bag for months in BC. Their bags are really flimsy, so I just always remember to bring a reusable bag. Or if I forgot a bag, the big green reusable ones Dollarama sells are decent and can hold a lot of stuff.

Isn't it only a matter of time before plastic grocery bags are banned in most places anyway? Vancouver has banned them, also Walmart and Sobeys group stores and people just adjust and either carry everything or buy a reusable/ paper bag.

It was supposed to be the end of 2021 but now it's the end of 2022 because of the supply chain issues. Some stores like Walmart have removed them already.

Just curious how do you expect someone who doesn't have a Drive to use Bins & Crates

The Walmart bag is a joke. It seems like we are going from 5c plastic bags to now a 35c piece-of-crap bag that will STILL end up the landfill

What exactly are we fixing here?

We need mandatory recyclable solutions.

I guess that's an online shopping issue with Walmart. I just bring my own good quality bags to the store. I still have one from A&P which hasn't been around since 2009.
