After first use, I should say I am impressed because super hot water didn't break the glass and the taste of coffee is actually pretty good. Also, the spiral plate is pretty tight, covering all sides.

I've seen these at Dollarama for a while now. The glass cracks easily under high heat.

Ehh, assuming it's tempered glass, it's pretty hard to make a bad French press. Ikea also sells one for $10 and another $24 version that has a 1-piece all-glass jar with handle.

Im thinking more the inner parts. Handle, screen the rest. That stuff breaks or strips threads so easily on the cheapo stuff.

After shattering 4 bodum french press through my carelessness over 2 years - replacement glass cost 4 X $35
I bought a $40 stainless steel double wall press, works well and does not have glass to break

that being said, this is a great deal but I would buy 10 units so I have replacements as they break.

Heck for $4 I'll give you 4 bench presses (just not too much weight, ok?).

Rama Design is a Dollarama registered brand.
This is a 3rd party seller making profit off reselling Dollarama stuff. Not sold by Amazon.

Rama Design Trademark Details saying it's registered by Dollarama

The $10 Ikea one is quite poor quality as well. The screen mesh is not very fine and allows more coffee particles to flow through.

I tried a double wall stainless steel one as well after breaking many glass ones but I ended returning it because the coffee tasted terrible and I couldn't stand the scraping metal sound as I depressed the plunger. Went back to a Bodum glass one.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. This is a Dollarama Brand Junk. Don't waste your money on things that you will use each and every day. These Rama Brands Junk items are good for once in a while use. Also don't waste your money on any name brand items that are made specifically for Dollarama. Like the Betty Crocker Can opener. It's a Piece of junk if you plan to cut a can or two every day but if you are using it once in a while then it will be oK.

So again the Public Service Announcement is any items that is designed specifically for Dollarama is Junk unless using it once in a while
