Found these while looking for the smart power bar. For 4 bucks you can make any bulb smarter with this adapter.
Seen in Montreal at the Somerled/Cavendish intersection. Look for it at the phone accessories stand near the cash.

I take it these only work with Apple Homekit? Any hacks to get it running with Google Home / Alexa?
I know you can make GAssistant compatible devices work with HomeKit via Homebridge.io, but I’m not aware of any hacks that would work the other way around.

The problem with smart bulbs is that they burn out, you thrown then away and need to buy another smarty bulb. With the adapter, when the bulb burns out, you just replace it with another dumb bulb.

I think led bulbs last for 20 years.

Maybe, best case. I’ve had dumb LEDs burn out. I’ve had 2 of the ecosmart connected bulbs from the home depot sales burn out. It happens.

LOL
Write date on them and witness. Keep receipt, warranty and return when dead. Personally don't believe anyone will know if bulbs last 20 years because who will be able to afford electricity in 20 years?
Not all LEDs are created equal btw.

Sammy Davis didn't you sing Candy Man?
