Not sure where you might be able to find a Mandolin for anywhere close to this price range anywhere. Maybe eBay but locally? This is a great secondary product on a whim

I may check this out. Love to make my own chips, but I deep fry them to get the crispness. Not a fan of microwaving, but may consider.

How did the chips come out? Really curious. I enjoy chips for the crunch, so I’d be curious how’d these taste?

you don't need a special tray to make them crispy. google microwave chips. i've made them before.

that being said, the design of this thing might do a better job than a regular microwave safe dish.

I got one of these. It works ok but you cannot change the thickness of the slice, so I don't think you could slice it thin enough to make chips. I bought a real one from Costco and have not used this one since

YouTube videos of this product show the chips come out crispy, however, it may take a few tries to get the timing right given natural variances in power and cooking evenness among microwaves.

Only complaint is that you can only make small batches, and even though the trays are stackable, it doesn't seem to work well once you try to cook more than one tray...i.e. Have to pause and swap them up and down.

The idea is to remove ALL the moisture and they will be DRY and I assume Crispy. All they need is a bit of oil and salt to nakey then TASTEY.

I am wondering. Does the tray have any other benefit re microwave use?

Think saw somewhere it was mentioned being silicone and stackable.
Other than that there aren't any magical chip producing properties laced into the plate.
That said other than buying it for the mandoline, I personally don't think blasting the microwave for a small batch of chips makes much sense.

Although this isn't chip related, I would recommend a potato spiral cutter.

These things are dirt cheap and shoving it into an air fryer makes great snacks.
