Thanks, very easy especially using posi-taps:

Front driver’s (not usually this clean):

Job doesn’t even need to be pretty because it’s all hidden underneath. Mine’s using the provided 3M tape, and zip ties for good measure. Push the dome switch and I can easily find stuff that fell on the floor at night.

Can these be rigged nicely to work for under car application?

This isn't my truck but tapping into a light that turns on briefly when you press the keyfob unlock would make it practical. You'd have to search in your vehicle's forums to see which wires in the loom you should tap. And you're better off getting solid strips you can zip tie.

If you changed out the interior bulbs for matching 6000K LEDs and did both footwells and under the doors, the effect would be like this:

These worked for me, check your bulb type: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B071LH ... UTF8&psc=1
My truck went from right pic to left like this:

I'm not into having any of these kind of lights actually on underneath the vehicle when driving but whatever people like.

Great find OP, hope to find and put behind my iMac. Already got them from Costco for our TV’s.
I still remember when cars just came with footwell lights now it's a mod. Or you gotta pay extra for "ambient" lighting.

Thanks OP I'll be looking for it just to add foot well lights to my cars too.
Huge PITA when you drop something in the car at night and have to use your phone to look for it.

Interesting uses for the car! Do people actually backlight their TV/monitors though? Does this help with visibility...?

How did you let it stay on for 15 seconds and turns off by itself?

It's in the factory settings of your vehicle via the head unit, you choose how long the dome/footwell bulb stays on after unlock, so the same gets transferred as you're tapping into the same wiring.

I had the same ones but color ones and they didn't remember last mode ...
Also USB was overpowering my TV's power output.
