You might have seen these toys around for more expensive.

Looks like montoy was able to get them for super cheap and they are now in dollarama for 4$.

They are offered in a green or red ball (my pics are of the red ball).
They have different colored leds that light up when turned on and suppose to use infrared to detect your hand and hover accordingly.
The device is rechargeable which is surprising for a dollarama toy and includes a usb charger but note that the box claims it's microusb, but it's incorrect and more like a usb to 1-2mm dc connector (as seen in pics).

Maybe it's just me but i found it hard to control.
The propellers are spinning very fast so I don't think it's too suitable for kids.
If the device meets an impact it will stop rotating until you turn it back on.
I mean for 4$ it's pretty neat for the 10mins of initial entertainment and far more advanced than the toys back in the day.

They have two batch, I bought 5 of them twice, first time were micro usb and now they are just a regular small plug.

I give them to the older childrens in the family and they love them, had to buy a second batch of 5 for more kids.

They are available in blue, red, green, for those wondering. And the dollarama close to my place @ Montreal told me it should be a products they keep in stock, so no need to rush thinking they will all sell.

Anything from China has stuff that will probably kill you. Here for a good time, not a long time.

sigh...I WISH I lived such a healthy lifestyle that holding a piece of the wrong plastic in my hand would push me over the edge. Right after I give up drinking, breathing downtown Toronto air, fries and being awakened in the middle of the night these are next on my list. Not trying to crap on your post but while I wouldn't give my baby a Dollarama soother I'm going to pick my battles with stuff like this.

Yep, looks like he opted for the SS version rather than the cast iron
