bought the last two at heartland, mississauga. It compliment well with 4 gleincairn glasses previous bought from RFD madness. I find it not as nice as gleincairn. But just 4$, you know.

I was marginally excited at first but got my German glass brands mixed up.

http://www.stoelzle-lausitz.com/en/161- ... sing-glass

EU list price for these is €4.80.
I too was also only marginally excited about these glasses, then when I looked at the specs, I'm like 'pass'

Volume: 194 ml · 6¾ oz

You can't even fit a mickey in these things. Waste....of......time!

SW corner of the cou…
I dropped into the Langford store and there were at least 4. Opened the box to have a look and noted that these glasses are not what I thought lead crystal to be (or at least comparable to what I have). Moulded rounded lips and very thick crystal/glass. I wouldn't have thought these to be crystal if I found them in a thrift shop (not that I find too many (in fact, none and I look everywhere every week) thin crystal whiskey glasses in a thrift shop).

The plus is that they're thick and heavy so probably more robust and less prone to breaking.
Almost too cheap to shop through RFD

In Ottawa a store had lot on their shelf. I bought 4 and got totally smashed the first night. Good quality.
Thanks op.

Thanks OP. picked up a set to add to my collection. Have too many glasses now!
That’s a good excuse to get more whiskies to compare.

I picked up a couple of these last week. Thanks OP.

My personal opinion is that the Glencairn glasses are much better for tasting/nosing, for not that much more money. The glass is thicker on these, which detracts a bit from the overall mouthfeel. The way the bowl is shaped also means it pools too much volume on the bottom of the glass to be able to examine the colour of what you're drinking (for the same volume, the liquid level will sit much higher on the Glencairn).

If you don't have whiskey glasses already, I'd recommend skipping these and going straight for the Glencain, so don't feel too bad if you miss out on this deal.

Saw at least a dozen at Airport/Bovaird location a few days ago.

Not what I was expecting. Seemed too large compared to the Glencairn I sipped from earlier this week at a friend's. Will invest in a better feeling product.

Managed to snag a couple of these from the Topsail Road store in St. John's.

I like them. Great value for $4 each.
