[DoorDash] [YMMV] 30% off next 4 orders, $7 max.

Saw this promo on the home page sliding banner of my DoorDash app which usually means it’s nationwide.

Place an order in the next 4 days and get a 30% off code on Dec.7 that can be used until Dec 20.

Not a super hot deal but it’s better than nothing for people that actively use doordash.

Between skip, Uber and DD, which one has more value? Frequent promotion, has a good monthly pass to offset the usual high fees.

I hate DD after they inexplicably rejected my referral credit. My friend made 2 orders yet DD still claimed they didn’t order anything.

I usually just jump around to whoever has the best promo at the time...

DD - free pass with RBC - promos were good before but I barely get anything now... customer service is good. I find the overall service fee lower than Uber.

Uber - Free pass with Aeroplan - promos were good before but I barely get anything now. Customer service is garbage / non existent.

The real difference between DD and Uber is that DD actually drops it at my door... Uber drops it at the lobby. Might just be luck of the draw but seems consistent with my previous orders.

Skip the dish - had good promos before but customer service is garbage / the worse of the 3. I've once ordered delivery and the store "price adjusted" my order because price was wrong (which I'm assuming was the store/skips fault). I wasn't advised and only noticed it in the evening when I saw the charge. I complained to SKIP and the customer service blames me for not know the price (even though they price adjusted it after the fact) and they didn't offer any type of compensation but instead said it's my fault for ordering and not checking the adjustment lol. Also I've had random charges that I didn't order so I removed all info and advised Skip to delete my record. Rather eat Mr. Noodles than order from skip again.

Skip has the lowest fees but barely any promos
UE and DD have higher fees but more promos
UE probably gives the most 50% off deals though

I got a 50% off on your first 2 orders (max $20) promo today on Door Dash with NBA50. I have an account there but haven't used it in a long time.

Exactly this. Skip is the cheapest for delivery without a monthly pass (I don’t use pickup so it might be different if you go that route). I tried on numerous occasions to order the exact same long list of food on all 3 delivery apps and each time Skip was the lowest cost.

However, with a pass it’s definitely Uber Eats. They frequently offer 30% off if you spend $50+ (they have that promo on right now actually for your next 5 deliveries until Dec. 13) and on occasion have the BOGO deals. Sometimes you get lucky and they offer both at the same time, which people here call stacking.

Those are the real savings opportunities and when you want to have a pass and order lots of food because you get it at a lower price then the restaurant sells in store. My last 2 stacks to give you an idea of the savings possible were:

8 regular poutines from New York Fries
$42 delivered including a $5 tip

4 piece fish and chips
2 shrimp linguini both from a local restaurant
$43 delivered including a $5 tip

Another thing worth noting:

Dashpass min order for free delivery is $12. For Uberpass the minimum is $15. In my experience that is a material difference if you are ordering for 1 person.

For those who got the promo and ordered, the code is 30OFF4CAN when you checkout. I just saw it when opening the app.

30%, up to $7 off for the next 4 orders until December 20th

They did the same to me! Have refused to use them since. Sent multiple emails arguing back and forth. They won! I gave up. Super frustrating though!

I got the promo on my account and couple of times opening the app it disappeared. I did an order before the 6th and 30OFF4CAN doesn’t work. What a scam.

Similar to others I made the order to get the codes, I managed to use the code twice but it's no longer showing in my promos or working when manually entering the code. Unfortunately support through doordash seems to only connect you to a support person for orders that have been made and they refer you to their faq for other issues.

Pretty lame of them to offer 4 uses then pull back... I didn't dive deep into the terms of the promo but looking for this thread I came across the PayPal deal and it seems like that one maybe has a limit of ~10000 uses. Nor sure if something like that is going on with this one??

Update - I decided to contact support on the order I placed to gain the promo. After explaining my situation they bumped me up to a support agent and ended up offering me $10 in credits. Given I had 2 coupons left at a max of $7 per coupon this was reasonably fair. I can utilize more discount on a single order as opposed to needing 2 orders to get that much.

I find doordash support is excellent. You just have to trust them and place the order at full price first when it fails, they'll credit it after.

When a promo doesn't work, I simply screenshot it and place it at full price. They do usually ask for a screenshot, so be sure to take one beforehand since the promos oftens disappear suddenly. Preferably on mobile since its easier, but can be done on PC too.
Than when it's on the way or after (even a few days after is fine if your busy) , do a live chat and they will credit the full promo back - often without the unfair math the app would use (EG: youll get a full 30% back of your total, incl tax, not of the subtotal without taxes/fees). And sometimes if your lucky, a bit extra for the inconvenience, or just to round up. If you prefer, you can also call them, which is a nice option (you can't call uber eats ever no matter what, nor even really send them a message, only use pre-setup BS templates, Skip i rarely have issues with so havent had much experience but I also think you cant call skip).

They can do credit card refunds or credits. I find its better to ask for credits as more agents have full authority to do those and they are instant , else they might have to refer you to a more senior agent.

And yea this promo broke for me too on first use. Gave a weird error message "invalid currency type". The customer service fully reimbursed me and another $5 credits on top no problem. They also possibly fixed the promo on my account since its still working now, and worked for an earlier order. (so in the system it would just be counting as my 2nd order tonight)
