Looks like a lot of them have a couple thousand kilometres on them. I would be wary as they (car2go vehicles) probably haven’t been broken in properly.

West Istand, Montrea…
The last batch was virtually new, with 90km on the odometers. These are used.

it's not the same deal... so it's not "back".
these ones have several thousand km's on them - and if they're driven by car2go users, don't touch em

How are you guys coming to the conclusion that these have been used for car2go? Is this an educated guess?

  • They have too many to be demos
  • Most have a few thousand KM's as Car2go just shuttered in Calgary recently
  • All are neutral colours

Well, you shouldn't beat on any car to begin with. Modern cars however don't need the extended breaking in of the engine like the cars of yesteryears did. That's because they are pre-broken in, so to speak. That being said, it's recommended to go easier for the first about 1k, but that is different than breaking in an engine, which requires certain rules to be followed.

How do you define going easy for the first 1k?

It says so right in the manual, which obviously majority of the people think they know everything about cars and never read it properly...
