Dramatic highway chase north of Toronto June 28th morning, mutiple vehicles damaged, police procedures questioned

Wow... i thought this only happens in america...

I suspect the police went to such extremes because the guy was on a legit rampage gta style.
They mentioned that he was shooting and car jacking!

The police officer drove too close to the pick up truck. The police didn't turn to the right, but instead turned to the left directly to the truck and then it was too late and couldn't avoid hitting it.

The woman that got shot, I hope she recovers soon.

I wonder how the insurance company is going to treat the driver of the pickup truck with regards to fault. The guys truck is bashed up not to mention physical damage from the high speed impact.

The cop was attempting to avoid the spike belt. If the cop turned right he would have run over the spike belt.

EDIT: The cop actually DID hit the spike belt. That caused the veering off into the pickup.

I hope the woman is ok. They should charge him with attempted murder for shooting her.

Why would police procedures be questioned? Suspect tried to kill his brother, shot a woman, attempted to carjack a few cars, carjacked one, shot at police twice, evaded arrest, and led police on a multi pokice district chase.

If this happened in the US it probably would've ended in a fire fight and the suspect taking a trip to the morgue...

but this is Canada and he'll get a plea deal to promise not to do it again in exchange for 1 week in jail

Cops in the US would make sure you had a few broken ribs before you were thrown into the paddy wagon.

The driver of a van who was hit by a police cruiser should be charged and license taken for being stupid:
Too many dumb people never watch their mirrors, drive 90km in left lane on Highway.

Last week I witnessed twice emergency vehicles approaching intersections and some drivers COMPLETELY ignoring it and they were turning quickly right in front, in order not to wait.
