175 km/h only??? I would take that brand new Caravan back and request something faster. Maybe Sienna or Odyssey.

Brilliant IDIOT. Not the brightest person on this planet.

So ... this law started in 2007 ... Source: Nov. 8, 2007 - Drivers stunned by new speeding law

What year are we in? And people still don't get it. PATHETIC.

Are there any cars that CAN'T do 175kph? Even an old Chevy cargo van hits the speed limiter at 180kph.

He could have been driving faster, before he was stopped.

The old diesel smart fortwo would fail(it nearly fails to ever hit a stunt driving charge on standard highway speeds). The Spark and Micra won't because the Mitsubishi Mirage can actually do better than 175 and its the weakest of the 3...caveat however is it must be a manual transmission. CVT Mirage however will I believe only hit 170-172.

Yep you're right on the money with that. Nissan Leaf is limited to 150. If you want to laugh at Mitsubishi, the i-Miev can never get a stunt driving charge on the 401 because it can't do more than 130.

I used to drive 140 on my Civic but something tells me it is going to be risky driving it at 150, not just for the vehicle but also for my insurance premiums.

Gasoline is also twice as much as before.

Smart Electric also only does 125kph.

My old 1994 4cyl Cavalier would do at least 180kph, so I'm sure the Civic would do that.

I don't need to find out lol or some of you guys will miss when I am gone.

Caravan for $20k is dirt cheap though. Even a Civic can cost as much lol.

If he had been in a pack with a rolla he would be just going with the flow of traffic, this is why the rest of us must always use the right lane (out of respekt for the speed demon Caravans and Corollas).

Yeah, trying to find out now is a bad idea, the days of Ontariobahn are over. That said your Civic should be nearly identical to my sister's Civic when she had it, I don't think 150 if the engine is in decent shape would trouble it. Out of tune or in poor shape, yeah potentially impossible because I remember how slow it was in ok shape working the manual gearbox quickly. Be glad though, yours survived, hers didn't.

I told my family we will get a sportier BEV when the Civic passes away. Not sure when that will happen though. For now, it is a blessing because most AWD BEVs with ACC but that won't cost more than $60k after tax and EVIP aren't arriving until 2020. Tesla M3 PUP and EAP options are too expensive.

Three or four years down the road, it could be a curse haha.

Many are limited at 160. S10 Blazers were, even though they had enough power to go over that. Chrysler's were limited at 180.
Most cases it's because of the tires they're fitted with from factory , not engine capabilities.

It probably needs a stunt driving "charge", for it to go that fast...

Yea, I see they're typically limited to 100mph, so maybe it was 160kph. In a cargo van it felt like 250kph. I remember that the limiter kicked in very hard and at first sounded like something broke in the engine.
