DRL stays on even after i turn off the ignition

The DRL on my Nissan quest van stays on even after in turn off the ignition. It is a USA vehicle and DRL was installed after market. Temporarily i took the socket pin out of the adapter and that switches off the DRL. So is it the adapter gone bad or is there an electrical issue?

thx

Does it go off after a few seconds after turning off the car?

It could just be a feature

Then he didn't wire the DRL properly...

Are you leaving the headlight at auto?

That's what I thought would be the case as soon as I read the thread title.

Those DRL modules can fail. But incorrect installation would be the first thing to check.

DRL modules used to all be made by Hamsar, a Canadian company. But that might have changed now, with some cheap alternatives.

I doubt it is just the connector/adapter that is the problem.

My initial feeling is the DRL relay (one of the contacts is sticking or the contacts are pitted) issue and thus providing a continuous feed to the lights even when ignition is off.
