Dropped screws and a screwdriver under the hood

I tried replacing the headlights in my 2013 volvo s60 but I accidentally drop the screws and the screwdriver somewhere near the front of the car under the hood or whatever it's called. I tried looking under the car and driving it back and forth but I can't find it. What is the easiest way to get it out or should I just leave it there? Now I'm missing a screw and my headlight is still burned out.

Turns out I'm just as useless. Crying Face

leave them in there ?? Let's hope the screwdriver is not lodged into a moving part inside the engine bay.

Leave it there and you could be screwed!

I originally thought this:

I dunno, you might have to bring it to the mechanic to drop the engine bay under guard to get it out.

Reach down and grab it, or jack it up, remove the plastic under panel and you'll probably find it there.

Can you not jack up the front end of the car and open up the undercover panel so you can retrieve them ?

If you cannot, then drive to the nearest mechanic for assist. Places like Active green Ross opens pretty early too

Remove the engine and transmission then you should be able to see it. Careful not to drop any more parts and tools.

Well why not get a new screw driver and start again. If screwdriver falls again, start with a new screw driver again. Rinse and repeat

Haha, don't sweat it too much. I think most of us have dropped stuff in the engine bay while working on our cars at one time or another. Next time invest in one of those magnetic dishes and place your stuff in there while working. As for now, try getting under the car with a flashlight and searching. Alternatively, go for a drive and then brake hard, you'll most likely knock the stuff out.

Just double check your belts and alternator to make sure nothing is stuck in those two things before going.

Reach under your car and hit the bottom panel with your hand until you hear your screws/screwdriver bounce. Repeat until they fall to the ground.
