Hi,
My whirlpool Dryer has started throwing very unusual noise every time when I turn it on regarldless of whether it is Medium or High does not matter...
I have recorded the noise & unable to attach here as keep getting msg 'File extension error'
Please let me know if there is a way to fix this & hopefully buying a new dryer as my last option. Attached is my dryer model. Noise is like a squeaky noise....
Looking forward to help please
Dryer is on the Washer as in picture.

Spin the dryer manually a few rotations without turning it on. Does it spin freely without making the same sound. could be bearings, could be something loose ( hair pin, loose change). watch some you tube videos to see if any other people have the same issue.

To add to xxxray's post, also consider the slide/guides on the front of the drum. The drum is fixed at the back (to the drive assembly) where bearings carry the load. On the front of the drum the load is supported by sliders - which can wear out and cause a rubbing/scaping noise. I would replace both if you need to pull it apart for one or the other.

My whirlpool dryer made loud squeaky noises, I added silicone lubricant to the idler pulley roller but that only fixed it for a couple of months.
This video was how I figured out what the problem was.

I bought this thing and replaced the idler pulley roller and the issue has been gone for a few months. Not sure if this will fit your dryer or not.

https://www.partselect.ca/PS373088-Whir ... ir-Kit.htm - This has a repair video and can order online.
This is what I bought. https://www.amresupply.com/part/4392067 ... REPAIR-KIT

It wasn't that hard to do following the videos. It took me a couple of hours to fix and most of the time was spent vacuuming the lint inside the dryer. After the fix and clean, the dryer ran better.
