Last year i did some basement reno and would like to get duckts cleaned. My house is about 2200 square feet and was wondering if anyone can tell me roughly how much i should be paying for this service?

Thanks

I got a quote for $160 in Barrie (Plus tax). Going to pull the trigger but not sure when. I am getting a new AC in the spring. Better to do before or after that?

Canada, Eh!!
Not normally recommend however you had reno done so that is one exception.

Cost usually $200 plus and takes at least couple of hours.
2022/3: BOC raised 10 times and MCAP raised its prime next day.
2017,2018: BOC raised rates 5 times and MCAP raised its prime next day each time.
2020: BOC dropped rates 3 times and MCAP waited to drop its prime to include all 3 drops.

190+tax for me. It was ~25 vents/ducts/however you want to call it.

Unless have reason [new build, reno, mold, vermin] really no need to clean ducts. The dirt, if any, is stuck to duct walls so will not come loose with typical hvac cycles.

Many discussions on this on RFD... basically if have reason or even symptoms that call for duct cleaning then get done correctly however not a yearly task and not every home needs.

Just my 2 cents :)

Are you saying that the dust from drywall and studs cutting that might or might not be in the ducts doesn't really leave hvac during the heating/cooling?

You had recent reno so in that case a quality duct cleaning is warranted.

I would suggest once get done then do not need to do on regular basis unless circumstances dictate.

Ducts cleaned with 18 Register outlets .... $99 .... call Mr. Wong at 416-618-3882 ... I did this when we moved in ... he also cleaned all the carpets on both of our floors for $160.

In total ... I gave him $300 cash.

LOL just realized Mr. Wong is whom I used. Honestly I had a mediocre experience with them - being pretty pushy with the up sells and additional fees.

While I agree that duct cleaning is not necessary to have done on a regular basis, there are specific times that it IS necessary. Moved into a 50 year old house that the ducts were NEVER cleaned. The house had a funky smell to it at times, so once that was done, the smell was gone. We're about finished major renovations, so for sure I'm going to get it done again as there's dust EVERYWHERE, and it's been pulled into the HVAC system.
