Duty if Shipping is DHL

Just wondering if any one knows roughly how much duty (percentage) should be expected if the seller from ebay (Seller is in Taiwan) uses DHL for shipping?

Thanks.

You mean brokerage/processing fee and not duty I believe.

(Duty could be anywhere from 0 to 25% depending on what the item is. Let's assume it is 0 based on how the seller in Taiwan will likely describe it.)

DHL may be handing over delivery for 'the last mile' to Canada Post, unless it's DHL Express.
If so, Canada Post will want $9.95 handling fee plus 13% HST.

If DHL brings it to your door, they will want $11 processing fee plus $5 transaction fee plus the HST.
Unless it is an item valued over $450 and then they would want 2.5% of the taxes and duty payable instead of the $11 processing fee.

If the item is clothing or shoes, duty will likely enter into the picture.
Note that when duty is applicable, it is applied first and then tax is calculated on that higher price.
