Would bet on digital version of gaming consoles
Not buying something on sale ISN'T a crime, buying something not on sale IS.

Jesus christ...... I'd rather keep it and put it in the bathroom to play while I shit.
If you have a TV in your bathroom, go for it.

So unfortunately since you put it on an edge card you will still have to pay $599.99+ tax - 287.50

Now the only way to retain tax free status is to put the credit on a pre-order of a game or preferably the console when it's available.
Hey so, once the preorders up for Ps5, and I were put the $287 credit towards that. would that subtract from the price or no?

If it works out i would have to pay $599.99 - (minus credit $287) = $352.50

if not worst case scenario I would have to pay ($599.99 + tax = 677.98) minus credit $287 = $389.80

I still think it’s worth going with this deal because getting a PS5 Day 1 under $400 is a hot deal imo

Thats assuming you can get a ps5. During both ps3 and ps4 launch, the lines were huge and the consoles were out of stock for a long time.

What happens to store credit if the company goes belly up? I still have an edge card with like 90 bucks from 10 years ago, thinking of spending it on an Xbox Series X/S controller for my PC but I'd prefer not to.

Poor TIVs, only worth trading if your console is really beat up. If not sell on eBay / Kijiji for more.

I have the ps4 slim 500GB and ya posting on Kijiji may net me 275 if i sell with just 1 controller, so just $50 more than EB games. I guess worth it until pre orders open up at ebgames, then i may just trade it in and wait.. I may post mine on RFD for those in the West end GTA area

Assuming people are making the jump to the PS5/Xbox Series, hasn't EBGames historically offered bonus TIVs shortly before the release of a new console?

Xbox One X was recently being sold for $279 new...its a great system but not surprised by the TIV

Funny this is that in many ways its more powerful than the Series S

For the games I would give up honestly trading in the PS4 Slim and Xbox One S are actually good at this price. Also even if it happened to be late, real late in getting the PS5 and Xbox whatever they are calling it I would have backwards compatibility to play my games so holding onto what I have makes sense for me. I also know in my area people are informed and also I am not going to try and rip anyone off so no way selling used will get much. EB honestly is giving good value here in my opinion for many.

If the company goes down I imagine it would all become worthless, although you hope they'd have a closing down period with certain deadline to use it by etc. I'm planning to get out of all my EB credit with these new consoles, or maybe get the consoles elsewhere and then use up the credit on games or extra controllers.

When it's just the one store that closes afaik they transfer your credit to a nearby store.
