I'm just curious why not switch games? Not being smart just wondering if there are other promos I should wait for trading in my switch games? Thanks in advance

Switch games hold value really well, almost always better to sell locally for cash.

But most of those games end up being $2 so they can't be used for this promo. They have been doing thing since they started the trade 3 get it free, making $10 minimum value the base, but they overnight changed most $10 games to $9 so you can't use them for the trade promo. Very lame, especially when things are going more digital, you would think they would want as many used games as they can get to resell

There are a ton of games worth $3 tbh, including some 3DS games. I wouldn’t recommend trading a first party Switch game (like Mario Kart 8) that you could sell for $50 easily, but maybe some 3rd party ones may have lower value. I haven’t bought a 3rd party game for Switch yet so I can’t say for sure but my guess is you’d still be better off selling it.

The $10 minimum promo is always bs. Their crappy trade offers are why I (like many others) avoid EB Games now.

I dunno, man. I love their Trade 3 promo even more now that it works for $89.99 PS5 games. I traded Read Dead Redemption 2, Wonderful 101, and Days Gone towards Returnal and got it free. Can’t complain.

Switch 1st party games only

a lot of 3rd party games tend to tank horribly, unless it's limited print jrpgs

You can still trade in in Ontario for anyone who's wondering. Just trade at the door.

I traded some games today, the guy gave me some BS like we don't take doubles. Because I had 2 Just Dance in my pile and one is Xbox and one is PS4 version.

I traded 600 dollar worth of games since 2 years ago, first time hearing this.

Worked there for 10 years, policy was/is no copies of the same sku allowed. You should've been allowed since they're different sku's.

So if I have credit at a closed down location, does it transfer over to another store? Trade credit is not across all eb’s when you put trade money down on whatever preorder as far as I know

I don't think it's necessarily non-profitable stores (do they actually have any at this point under normal circumstances?), I think they're just looking at leases and prioritizing locations that are in malls vs standalone or strip mall locations. One of the ones they closed in Winnipeg was actually a good location but they still closed it in favour of the one in the mall across the street, despite the fact that the guy that runs the mall hates them as well lol.
Akizuki wrote: Did you see any closing clear out sales?
There are none. They close them to the public instantly, send all the stock to other locations, and then reassign the employees they're keeping.

Yes when a location gets closed down they're supposed to contact you and ask what location you want everything transferred to.

I love ebgames! but I can't believe they survived 2 years of pandemic! Its a total massacre in retail. I wonder who can hold on until at least herd immunity, they will go down in retail history!

I don't think that one closed for non profitability, I heard their lease was up and with all the construction in the area they were not looking to renew especially with the Morningside crossing location so close.
