Loving this router so far, I posted the deal for $275 back in February. So good I haven't bothered with AiMesh in a 3000 sq. ft. house.

Noob question, why are they not selling in new egg Canada website? What difference makes when selling through eBay?

I don't get it either. Considering now they would pay eBay fees too. Newegg website had it for $299.99. If they had it for $264.99 on their own website, it makes it easy to price match someplace else.

What’s extra port next to wan? It looks like secondary Wan port.

How does this compare with the TP-Link AX20? I've been getting pretty decent speeds and full signal one floor up 20 feet away with WiFi 6, speed is 200mbps on a 300mbps connection. The AX20 only costed $109, just wondering what the advantages of getting this for an additional $155 would be.

Not sure if it / which is an advantage...but one brand is from Taiwan, the other brand is from China.

I'm more curious to know how you have 100 devices in a regular house like that

I'd imagine smart home with lots of wifi devices? Like a bulb is one device right? 🤣

I have a Zigbee and ZWave setup and including bulbs, I have 35 devices already. A bigger house with sensors, locks.. 100 is possible.

This is tempting, but I don't have enough AX devices or faster internet to justify this. I will skip this gen and wait for 6E to roll in. I am definitely recommend Asus because they are decent and have a lot of security options. Asuswrt and Merline are some alternatives. I am happy with my AC3100 ATM.

Thanks OP! Needed a new router for when I move. Been eyeing this one for a while now and this is the best price I've seen since I started watching for it.

Ya, I found the eBay listing when I noticed the price drop to $299 a few days ago. I just find it strange that they have it lower on eBay.

I ended up using the Staples 10% off code from the Staples thread and got it for $269 from there instead. It arrived yesterday, but I haven't set it up yet.

Says $299 now so dead I guess.

One thing I don't like about Asus is the power button, it's convenient in some ways but also a point of failure. At least this one is a rocker rather than a push button, myself and other RFD'ers have failing push buttons on older Asus routers. I've had an elastic over mine for quite some time but occasionally it'll kick off and I have to adjust it.

Maybe they have tax implications/benefits?

Well not really a hundred but like the other post. Bulbs, switches, google home devices, gaming machine, ipads, smart TV etc :-)
Kids are always complaining wifi sucks.

So people actually use the power button? I have an ASUS GT-AC5300 and an AC86U and I’ve never power cycled with the buttons, I either unplug from the power bar or unplug the power cord from the router.

I don't really recall using it, just one day the router was dead and I figured out the button had become screwy and was no longer staying pushed in. Maybe the spring somehow messed up, or something, I don't know what went wrong inside.
