Bose also sells refurbished direct from their website. Not sure which one is best to buy from, since this is Bose just selling through ebay.

If it is the same price direct from Bose I'd rather get it from them directly as you can get Cashback on your purchase through Rakuten.

The price is awesome, but used earbuds? Ehhhhhhhhh. These do come directly from Bose I suppose, but I do not know what their refurbishing standards are like.

Wouldn't buy them; I own a pair turns out if you lose the case (you break the clip that it closed like I did), you're toast; They cannot replace the case, the earbuds are hardcoded to the charging case. Really bad product design from bose.

I bit on a similar Bose eBay deal a couple months back, I was wary about refurbished, especially after reading some helpful comments in other deal threads.

But my experience with Bose refurbished has been great. I got the QC buds, they are packed in their own refurbished products boxes, presentation doesn't mean much to me but it's a step up from everything in a ziploc bag that Jabra refurbished buds are shipped with.

My QC buds were honestly immaculate. No dirt or earwax, looked brand new. When you open up the huge case, the inside is glossy plastic, I expected that part to show some scratches or wear but it looked brand new. I'm really happy with my refurbished experience. I know others here have had bad experience with Bose refurbished, I believe them. But maybe Bose stepped up their game. Or maybe I got lucky.

Just replace the tips if you feel uncomfortable, it is east to do.

Bose sells a lot of refurbished products. Refurbished is different than just re-selling a used product. Well, that's what they say.

More often than not, it feels like these companies are almost re-selling new products. And it's certainly the exception when a product has noticeable wear on it. I bought QC35's refurbished from them. Looked brand new. Same white box as you described, specifically labeled as "refurbished". If I ever received a product that had something like ear wax on it, you can be certain that would immediately end my relationship with that company.

The downside to this, is that refurbished products don't have as much of a discount as you might expect. Especially when compared to simple sale prices...

Bought iphone 11 from Telus, refurbished.
Bought macbook air from Apple, refurbished.
Bought those QC35 from Bose, refurbished.
Knock on wood, no issues with any so far.
