This would be about 60mm on a crop sensor?

Tempting....

You'd be 64mm on an APS-C

How does this compare to Canon EF-M 22mm lens

Apparently an awesome lens for the m100 which i have been looking for

Realistically you'd want both

The 22mm has an equivalent focal length of ~26mm which is < 1/2 the focal length of the 40mm.

The 22 is apparently a superb lens for it's pricepoint, and would be great for wide angle shots. The 40mm would be better for portraits

This one is kinda a specialty lens. It's the smallest lens Canon has to offer. Pancake lens like this is a good walk around lens. Good focal length.

I got it since it came out. Sometimes you just don't wanna walk around with the 70-200 2.8 for good reasons.

I would probably sell my 50mm 1.8 before this one.

I still use ef lenses with an adapter. Most r lenses are way to pricy for me.

Even though I have a canon rp camera, bought one to use with the adapter. I hear it is sharper compared to 50mm f1.8.

Why would people not be using ef lenses?

There's not exactly a ton of rf lenses and those that do exist are way more expensive then their ef counterpart

I have this lens, it's too tight for most video. 40mm on full frame, 60mm on crop.

This lens is being discontinued by Canon, so it's last call to get a new in box one. It's a great lens for $100. I wouldn't pay $200+ for it these days.

It's decently sharp with nice colours, I used to use it with a t4i.
