[eBay.ca] Celebrate 25 years of eBay with up to 25% off

Got an email about 25th anniversary of eBay. Selected items up to 25% off.

"We’re celebrating 25 years. And what exactly are we celebrating?

Our people.

eBay is a vibrant and dynamic marketplace thanks to our dedicated sellers and the shoppers who support them. So on this milestone, we’re celebrating the people that make eBay, eBay. We’re celebrating 25 years of people being passionate, innovative, inspired, creative, curious.

We’re celebrating 25 years of people being people."

I have gotten stuff from eBay within 20-40 day compared to AliExpress which took almost 3 months at the height of the pandemic. Not saying it applies for all items but so far eBay items have shipped here faster. Just placed an order 3 weeks ago and received today.

eBay also seems to be offering more discounts to remain competitive.

It is eBay after all. Can still find something worth buying with that discount. Thanks sharing, I guess.

Man, was it 2019 when they had 15% discount coupons every month? That was a nice year for ebaying.

Even $15 off with min $75 spend in 2017 was also a sweet memory, this company is dying and decaying with these false promo.

If you've been on ebay since the late 90s, they sent out a $25 USD coupon, promo code is HAPPY25 but it's by invite only says the email.

Here's a screenshot of the offer I got.

In the earlier years I really enjoyed eBay which was primarily an item bidding process and shipping rates were reasonable; now I struggle to find deals that aren't destroyed by shipping costs. And yes, problems receiving items have become too common in recent years not to mention warranty denials and unscrupulous sellers. Amazon puts them to shame in so many ways --seems eBay doesn't think it has to change with the times--Sears tried that mentality as well. Good luck eBay and thanks for the memories of the earlier years!
