I agree. Also, just because they claim it's "environmentally friendly" does not make it so. A single use cartridge for every bottle? That seems horribly wasteful, recyclable or not. At least the SodaStream cartridges can be used several times and can be refilled (if you put in the effort).

A 5 or 10 pound standard CO2 tank is the way to go here. You can get a regulator, some tubing with a ball-lock quick connector on the end, and one or two CarbaCaps at your local homebrew supply, and the system pays for itself by the time you empty the tank for the first time. But wait, there's more! You can also do juice, beer, and wine without voiding a warranty, as would be the case with a SodaStream.
