Forgive my ignorance but do you pay tax when you checkout for ebay Store sales?
I assume so?

You are losing 20 mins of usage time. The v8 series is rated for 40 mins usage time while v6 is rated for 20 mins. I have the v6b and 20 mins is enough to vacuum my townhouse.

Everything that is included with a brand new one comes along with this, including the wall charger. I know the below pic from Dyson does not illustrate this, but it is always included.

I have mostly hard wood floors. Is this unit any good? I read this:

The V6 Animal has just one cleaning head, the direct-drive. This makes it well-suited for mostly carpeted homes but slightly less equipped for homes with mostly bare floors or a combination of both carpet and hard flooring.

Apart from the standard combination tool and crevice tool, the Car+Boat also came with mini-motorized head, soft brush, hard brush, extension hose and car charger.

V8 has longer run time, and more powerful motor / stronger suction.

V8 has new design canister emptying mechanism. For V6, you pull the lever and the bottom cover opens. If something is stuck inside, you have to reach in and clear it; a bit of a mess.
For V8, you now pull up the motor unit first, and this would scrap any debris from the metal grill, and then the bottom cover opens; so there is less chance of dirt stuck inside unless it it too full.

V8 also has completely redesigned tool attachment (tools from V6 is not compatible with V8). V8 tools can be detached easily with one hand, while for most people, you need both hands to remove a tool from V6.

Just a note on run time, Dyson claims "up to" 40 minutes with the V8 and up to 20 minutes with the V6, but understand that to achieve this maximum, you would need to be using the suction tools only, as opposed to the motorized heads. With the motorized heads, V8 run time is 25 minutes and V6 run time is 15 minutes.
