Regarding 144Hz Screen Claim & General Laptop Experience
restoreDVD wrote: The screen IS indeed 144hz
squall458 wrote: Bought one from original deal on ebay. One of the best purchases I have ever made on RFD. 144HZ screen is simply amazing. Remap left shit button and keyboard is fine.
ATOMANTMAN wrote: 144hz. Its got great color too. Very impressed
acpartin wrote: I bought this when it was first on sale, amazing gaming rig. 144hz panel is simply awesome. Super easy to upgrade too with an extra m.2 slot. Great deal, I would buy it again if I could!!!
My batch still had 9 months warranty left with an option to buy another 12 months for $66. If you're on the fence, I say go for it!
Th3MaTr1x001 wrote: I got this laptop two weeks ago from the same seller and let me tell you this is an amazing laptop.

Key points :
  • Display is 120hz (at least on mine)
  • NVIDIA GTX 1660 TI is well enough for pretty much all game.
  • You can enable the intel GPU for better battery life through Lenovo Vantage software (hybrid mode)
  • Easy to upgrade, you can add a 2.5” SSD and all the bracket, screw and cable are already inside the laptop.
  • The laptop looks brand new and people guessed that it was overstock/returns from Costco
  • All the people that got it had around 9 months left of Lenovo Legion Ultimate warranty which means onsite repairs. You can also upgrade to 2 years for 66.00$ or more for 3 or 4 years warranty..!
Go for it while you can!!!
xseanx wrote: bought this the last time around, it was brand new with the stickers on, 144Hz, great airflow, dosent heat up, comes with a mounting bracket for a sata ssd... I would say one of the best value for money gaming laptops out there
It appears the screen is likely 144Hz. It also appears to be a solid machine, in good condition, with potential left-over warranty.

PassMark is nearly 8000, it's plenty fast both as a desktop replacement and gaming rig.

As for the french keyboard, it's the same as a regular keyboard except for the split shift key.

Most people get used to it, I did. You can also rebind keys to create two side-by-side shift keys if need be.

In practice this keyboard can stand up to most business productivity tasks quite well.

Then you have the solid gaming experience with the mobile 1660 TI.

I believe the consensus is that it turned out to be 144hz, but wait for others to confirm as well.

I've been wanting to get a good gaming laptop for my son. He's 10 and is mostly paying Fortnite, but I want something that will last a few years and play whatever the next big hit game is. How does this deal stack up to other recent gaming laptop deals? Have there been better laptops and better deals?

I'm not sure there's been better deals outside of flash in the pan fire sales. This one has had healthy stock so you didn't need to catch it 3:00am on a Sunday and order within 5 minutes of stock out.

I'm a personal fan, but I'm computer'd up right now.

Yeah, he's generally pretty good.

I want an answer to the 144Hz, I'm pretty sure I'm correct, pretty sure it's 144Hz.

Automatic buy if so.

This is one powerful setup for the money which your son won't need a new system for about 5 years.

60Hz...

Here is a link for the brochure for this model.

The SSD seems a bit small as well. But for the price is is still a good buy.

https://www.directdial.com/ca/item/leno ... 81sx00r6cf

Click on the respective link in the page.

The three display types are:

15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS
(144 Hz / 72% Color Gamut / 300 nits)
15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS
(60 Hz / 72% Color Gamut / 300 nits)
15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS
(60 Hz / 45% Color Gamut / 250 nits)

Since the 144 Hz is a major selling feature, if it is not mentioned you can be certain it is 60Hz, probably 250 nits.

Your brochure information lists multiple display specs including 144hz. Too many people have confirmed this is 144hz, I'm doubtful about the documentation from a difference website.

I bought this for my 10 year old for but it was an amd cpu however it’s the same gpu. I would say it’s a great laptop for the price you’re paying. I paid over a thousand for mine which was the legion 5.
It’ll play fortnite no problem and the build quality is excellent
