Great deal, apart from the French keyboard.

Just some notes about ports on this laptop, which are honestly a bit lame for a "modern" laptop like this:
-HDMI is 1.4
-USB-C does NOT support DP or any alternate modes
-Only one USB-C port
-USB in general (C port included) is 5Gbps or "Gen1" speed.

Basically there's no way to get 4K60 out of this laptop and the USB-C port is nothing more than to say it has USB-C and PD and whatever--it basically just ends up being the adapter port and nothing else.

I have one of these (with a Ryzen 5) and while these things aren't dealbreakers, the ports bit just seems senseless to me.

Oh also the screen is relatively dim--doesn't get too bright but should be fine for general indoor use. RAM is not upgradable but 16GB is more than enough for the vast majority of ppl (despite everyone thinking you "need" some ungodly amount of RAM these days, without any specific reason).

I have the "sister" laptop, the Ideapad 5 14ARE05 (not Flex), and it's interesting how it has basically the same ports, but HDMI 2.0 and USB-C DP Alt mode.

T.O.
The listing indicates that it's French 'LENOVO 81X20067CF IdeaPad Flex 5 14ARE05 (French)'. I assume this is in reference to the keyboard. Does anyone know if the key mappings are the same as the English version and have the normal key labels seen in a bilingual keyboard.

French? No wonder people returned it.

Here's a photo of the actual keyboard.

My warning from the old thread still stands.

The French keyboard situation doesn't help.

These prices are common in the GTA and Montreal grey markets. They also come with the famously generous 'we've never met' warranty plan, and the 'pound sand' onsite repair.

It's a calculated gamble, and more power to those that play the game.

God bless, gentlemen.

wondering if I should return and get this for $100+ more (+8RAM, bigger SSD)
The Ryzen 7 4700U is going to be a lot faster than the i3 for sure, and it comes with double the ram and double the storage. The only thing you may want to consider is the 90 day warranty compared to 1 year warranty on the Asus.

You could have just remapped that key to also be an enter button. Problem solved.
